EB Penthouse Top Transplant to RB Van Body

Was able to track down a EB Penthouse top, still attached to the extended van. Van is a "cargo" in very rough shape. I already have a van and would like to transplant the top to my newer standard length van. Therein lies the problem. I have 18" less roof to attach the top to, so the penthouse roof would nearly extend to the windshield.

Has anyone ever done this? I seem to recall refrences to this being done by another member. What issues were encountered? Was roof cut forward of the B pillar roof support or was opening frame shortened? Was the fiberglass roof cut down to fit?
Just want to know before I go head deep into this.

AndrewST has done this. It turned out to look better than an SMB install IMO.

Thanks for the offer polishadam82, but it will not be necessary, the deal feel through. I just could not get out to the seller fast enough. I looked at your profile and saw you picked up a top around Feb this year. Was this the blue one from Santa Cruz?

That was a huge score. That was another one that I could not get to quick enough. Glad to see a member got it.

Did you wind up rehabbing the top yourself and sourcing the canvas from Sportsmobile West?

I guess I'll just have to keep looking.
