Re: ELVIS the BELUGA WHALE

I have sidewall brackets for mounting the awning feet back to van instead of the ground. I use them sometimes, either one or both, esp when I want the awning out only 1/2 way.

Mounting on the passenger door has been no problem. When I use that mount I can easily make sure the awning is up high enough to clear the barn door.

My awning legs can be extended from the ground high enough to clear the barn doors. I have 4x6 inch plates inside that the awning is mounted to. no rattles or groans.

Re: ELVIS the BELUGA WHALE

Hi All

now that the days are short I plan to spend some time working on the van again. We enjoyed quite a few trips this past spring and summer. Hopefully this coming season will bring more of the same.

happy new year!

nestled in for winter

ELVIS the BELUGA WHALE

I have a bad case of garage envy.

Re: ELVIS the BELUGA WHALE

Man, me too! I have about 2000 sq ft of unfinished basement which is an excellent workshop, but my house is old and it has a low ceiling so i can't get a van in there, or a lift which is what i really want, for general auto maintenance. Nice setup, and nice Mini!

The van is looking great, glad you're enjoying it. I'm not sure if you have mentioned whether or not you are going to put doors on your wall cabinet/shelves (where is see clothes stored in the pics), but i like the open design. That's the way i did all of my inside storage, more like open bins than closed cabinets. I think doors would only get in the way in cramped quarters like a van. Nice!

Re: ELVIS the BELUGA WHALE

Hey Thanks! It was fun meeting you in the wilds of maine. Pretty unlikely to meet a fellow diesel E350 van camper out in Burketville! I will check on those links later- I got called back in to work the rest of the day . I'll keep my eyes peeled for you on the other forums.
