Euro Van Build

Hi SMBers!

Well after having had to sell off our Chevy Express van we are on a new project. It isn't really an SMB wannabe because it is neither Ford nor Chevy, but I thought you might tolerate this intrusion and be interested by some of it .

Mrs Saabman and I bought the replacement base Van in February and have driven it around for about 10'000km now and are beginning to quite like it...

Here we go:
Citroen Jumper HDI is an Italian made Fiat van basically. There have been 3 generations of these and this is a genII model from 2004.

Here are some specs:
Passenger Van (8-9 seats)
2.8L Diesel common rail turbo engine
30 mpg
140 bhp (approx. some models differ...)
300 Nm trq (approx. some models differ...)

Here are some pics to start with:

And so begins this thread...

Re: Euro Van Build

Hey Saabman,
Good luck on the project and please post as much as you'd like. Since it looks like the USA will finally start getting more european styled vans I'm really interesed to see how the conversion process might be different, and the same.

PS. When I joked before with you about Sarkozy wanting to get rid of immigrants you didn't mention that he's the one who might be got rid of. I didn't realize the powers you have at your control .

Re: Euro Van Build

I'll also look forward to seeing the progress of your conversion!

The USA is facing the full-sized Ford Transit eventually replacing our E-Series sometime in the near future. Despite the heavy concern of it being severely under powered and too light in capacity to tow large or heavy loads its cargo space is very much to my liking. As a people mover or shuttle bus type vehicle they should be outstanding, especially if they prove to be this economical fuel-wise.

By all means please keep this thread going, update as often as you like----its quite a welcome addition here! Our best to Mrs Saabman too!
