Re: Finally Getting Started!

Well....don't know what to say. It can be fixed; although I may not like it.

Finally Getting Started!

Got er' done.

I emailed a pic to the expert who confirmed that I had more work to do.

Start to finish was about 1:30. Went smoothly and probably could have done it a little quicker (not planning to try again!).

Thought about it all day. Measured after the fact and it was between 36 1/2" and 37" to the top of the fender well.

Re: Finally Getting Started!

I had a chance to get some work done on the van. My inverter is a little to far out of the way.

Pretty straight forward install. Placement decisions! Drilled two holes then connected them with the jig saw.

Everything turned out fine. It was a real pain in the neck to reach up in the cabinet to hit the inverter switch. Much easier with the remote switch. The supplied cord is 50' I think, I only need one that's about 5' so I will need to locate one or find an end.

Re: Finally Getting Started!

I also picked up some cheap LED light from Lowes. Installed the other day but they came off with the supplied hook and loop. I guess the colder temps was the cause. I super glued the backs on today. It should be easier to read at night. If they work good I may pick up a couple of more. Powered by 3 AAA batteries.

Re: Finally Getting Started!

Here's a couple of quick updates. Finally bought the bamboo charcoal bag for the fridge.

I also changed cabinet hardware again. I started with the bolt style latches and they rattled until I finally got rid of them. I ordered these Southco latches off of Amazon and installed them today.

They shut very well and hopefully the rattles will disappear. I need to refinish the cabinets but I was waiting to come to terms with a couple of issues before repainting. Trying to get ready for a trip in May. Trying to get a game plan together for a kitchen module that will be removable.

Re: Finally Getting Started!

Looking good Brian! Can you post a before/after pic of your van from the side with the wheels on? I'm curious how the add-a-leaf and risers raised it. I read your measurement but would love to see how it looks.

Thanks!

Re: Finally Getting Started!

How do those latches work? If it's pull (no lever) aren't you concerned about them coming open?

Re: Finally Getting Started!

Here's the link to the latches I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002I05TUQ/ref ... 1_ST1_dp_1

Installing them was straight forward. They offer several different pull weights. I bought the 10#. I never had door pulls before but something will need to be added because they are tough(relative) to pull. The hook on the door grabs the hook on the frame and the frame hook rolls in. I am thinking about routing a bevel on the door for a finger grab. I haven't decided on whether it will be on the top or on the side of the door. ****I make no claim for knowing what I'm doing!****

I'm not sure you can tell a lot. The front worked great, in fact it made the front look much better. When I added the rear leaf it brought the back up to about the same position as before I started. You can tell a difference in the wheel well space in the two pics.

The wheel and tire fund is still a few bucks short. Hope this helps but like I said its tough to tell. The plan is for 265/75/16 tires. Between the tires and the lift should be 3" difference.
