Great video, thanks for posting. How is the polished aluminum holding up? Any maintenance issues?

Of course since it's raw aluminum it wants to rot, stain, get patchy, etc Every 6 months or so I go to town on it with mothers aluminum polish, and then spray and polish with s100 polish/corrosion protectant (it's actually marketed for motorcycles). Same procedure front and back.

It should be covered with at least a spray on detail wax when washed or it will pit. Not as bad as it sounds IMO. 2-3hrs of work for front and back every 6 months or simple spritz wax when washed.

I use a power washer with a soap/wax combo on the whole van when I clean it, so spray on wax isn't even a separate step.

Oh one thing on the raw aluminum, it does scratch lightly. So expect scratches on the back bumper where you step and load. Not awful but visible.

It sure looks great! Wish I had the oomph to do the original polishing. I'll be ordering a few Aluminess parts and would love to have that shine, but will likely need to go powder coat... sigh.

Quick update on the bumper. Backed it into a brick wall. Like 1mph and 1/2 inch off at a loading dock. Anyway, sanding wheel and 5 minutes and the scuff was gone.

That's why raw aluminum is aaaawwweeeesssooommmmeeeee. Totally worth the effort.

Love the van! Looks sweet with the spare tire on the front, sorry if it was already covered but how is it attached?
