By the time you get it fit around the rear wheel wells and other van features and install a bunch of cabinets/seats on top of it, it can't go anywhere.

There may be a few good reasons to screw it down, but so far, I have not thought of any....
It can go UP when the van goes down. Everything needs to be well anchored to the body.

Re: Floating floor or secure it?

And in an accident it can go flying. But I'm planning on attaching the cabinets to the floor and those will be attached to the walls so I'm sure everything is going to be solid. I'm gonna do the wedge technique, just waiting for some time off.

Re: Floating floor or secure it?

I too want to minimize drilling through the floor so I want to use some of the existing threaded rear seat anchor points and anchor the floor at the side/walls.

Re: Floating floor or secure it?

I simply used liquid nails to hold my plywood in place. I didn't want to or see a need for anything stronger or damaging...
While I haven't done any offroading, it's still sitting perfectly without any squeaks, rattles or problems over a year later.

The bolts that SMB used for the cabinets (which go all the way through the metal floor) are pretty much all that holds it in place.
