The evap canister parts could be adapted to any tank and one could also get an older style in-tank pump to run off of the newer van fuel pump module...

There's nothing complicated about it, just looks like a mess.

I think Agile wanted to avoid a mess under the rig. John was quite forthcoming about the simple fact that this was only the second later model V-10 they had done. So the tank issue hadn't been completely solved as the first one ended up going to SMB for a transferflow. We talked it through and it seemed like a custom tank would be the cleanest and best solution that would also allow the build to go on schedule. I solve problems all day long so I can sympathize. The next later model V10 he deals with will be a no brainer.

All I want for Xmas is 4WD!!

Can't wait to see the finished product! My experience with John was also outstanding. Getting the "in process" pics were great but also added to the anxiety of getting a new toy.

Of course in California that would probably lead to a prison sentence when you take it in for smog.

The last time I took my van in (first time for no exhaust sniffer) they looked under the van and said the cats all needed to be OEM.

Front page on the LA Times:

Man modifies van, destroys environment.

I will for sure be holding my breath a bit when I go to the first Smog check with the new tank.

This is why I'm a fan of using the aft of axle tanks. They aren't aftermarket. The evap unit and fuel pump can be adapted using factory parts.

In hindsight that would have been a great way to go. I think you can get 55 gallons in there too. I saw several aftermarket tanks that could have been done.

When/If I do my next van, I will start with a cutaway and add a steel framed aluminum skinned pop top rear. This of course is just a dream thing, but it keeps recurring.

Flux have you seen the turtle tops yet?

These of course are Quadvan but man they look sweet. V10 with the 6 speed would be at least 13mpg...
