Ford Econoline Center Dash Vent puzzle?

Waiving the white flag on this one and here to ask for help.

How does one piece back together the vent from the dash? It came apart while trying to deep clean it.

It’s been the most frustrating two hours trying to figure it out and Google has been no help. 😂

Unsure which direction the ‘stick’ goes and how they all attach…

Honestly, when ever I hit a salvage yard I always look for vents that work correctly and pop them out. There normally around five bucks and I always have a spare or two. Sorry I can’t tell you how to put it back together, but look closely at one of your other ones.

Same here---I've accidentally collected more than 2 or 3. I have also tried to reposition the individual vanes with varying degrees of success. If they're simply popped out of place that's somewhat easy, if something is broken its time to find a new part.

If you'd rather shop from home eBay has a ton of those, watch the pricing as some try charging upwards of $50 each---but those are brand new unused.

Without seeing the actual vent insert in hand its tough to advise how to repair your's---sorry 'bout that. If you're able to remove another from the same van use it as a guide perhaps---I've done that to good effect.
