After checking other posts on this issue I tried to do the grab the center of the door trick and it worked, closes nice and tight just the way I like it.

Those strikers can be adjusted. Just loosen up the Torx bolts, and tap them into the right place. If you have to slam the door really hard, it'll close easier if you bring it out every so slightly. Sometimes the center striker also needs to be brought in further if you still get noise.

Maybe from this thread? Doors latching

My post at the end describes what works for me (grabbing the door halfway up the window, and firmly pushing it closed so that the top latch catches). No slamming necessary. Some of the earlier posts describe closing firmly without slamming, as well.
