Great start

After looking for quite awhile I found the van start to my build, its going to be some time before I can start working on converting it to a 4x4 but the plan is there.
What I purchased is a 2003 E350 Chateau with the 7.3 diesel and 112,000 miles on it(sweet just what I wanted) has the four capitains chairs and a bench in back, I wanted the bench that folds into a bed but this will work for now.

Don't forget you gave me my first ride in a 4x4 van, I will not forget it. Your van is sweet!

Love the Chateau vans, I am planning a similar setup in my van. Looks like you found a clean one too, congrats!

Re: Great start

Nice van Chad. Very happy for you to have finally found what you wanted. Pays to be patient sometimes and you were.

Re: Great start

Still enjoying the van and trying to figure out how to fix the side barn doors, they seem like they are not closing tightly.
They dont rattle but my wife is bothered by the sound of air and occasionally the cab light will flicker on a left turn.
I was thinking of cutting and welding the U shaped latch on the top to make its reach shorter since there seems to be no adjustment.
Has anybody else delt with this?

There are threads about this. There is an adjustment thread and discussion about having to really slam the heck out of the smaller door first. My side doors are squishy, but it's never bothered me and I don't close them abnormally tight.

One thing, you want to make sure the wind noise is coming from those doors and not somewhere/something else before making modifications. Maybe seal the whole section up with painters tape and see if you can get the sound.

It might be the front door or a window not closed properly (the top of the power windows goes in the channel and mine often get hung on the molding- looks like they're closed but the aren't)...of course that doesn't explain the dome light!
