Re: Has anyone built there own penthouse top?

Bluedog those lights came from the local ace store they are 12 volt lights but not led. I want to put leds in there but they need to be 12 volt and hard wireable I looked at the lights you were talking about and the thing I did not care for was they are battery powered and I did not want to have change batteries even though they are led. and they are expensive I only spent 30 bucks for all 8 of these lights.

That is the coolest PH...I think this redifnes the penthouse. Can I ask how much $$ you spent...excluding time spent.

Re: Has anyone built there own penthouse top?

Thanks for the comment!
We did not keep real accurate count of what we spent but the best we figure it was under 2000 for everything. zippers and velcro get expensive if your were to skip the slid out bed and all the windows you could easily cut the cost in half I also spent an extra 300 bucks to make the top go up and down with electric motors instead of manually. As far time vs money well I started on it the week after new years and worked on it 3 out of every four weekends including fridays (I work monday thru thursday) and three out of every 4 week nights and we got to the point of being usable one week ago. So what is your time worth?? Mine after this project is worth about 7 1/2 cents an hour but don't tell my boss
