It's beside me that this whole stigma of the SMB empire is shaded in dark secrecy. It's just a hole.
There is no rocket surgery or brain science going on here.

There is indeed a rib that is just above the seat area. This should stay , IMO. Or at least replaced if wanting a flat deck above the driver/passenger area.
The other rearward cross braces are bolted into the side wall framing.
As far as Ford not permitting the front area to be hacked, That info should have been released to the many Conversion Van companies as well as the after market. No worries.

I have a comfy useable area laid out with room for expansion and improvement. The first cut will only be about 4' x 4'.

Here's a link to a CL listing in my area. Look at the pic's of the drivers area. They cut out the entire stock roof. Go figure.
