Homemade bug screens

I finished my first bug screen for one of the side barn doors. It’s made with a slightly strechable screen material, bias tape for the edge and rare earth magnets sewn into the bias tape edging. When packed away, it packs down to a ball about the size of a baseball.

Thank you Tnew! It definitely took longer to make than expected but I’m happy with how it turned out and I am working on finishing screens for the other pop out windows.

I like that solution for the pop out windows. Where did you get the material?

HI Oogs,

I got the material from Amazon. It’s a nylon mesh screen fabric.

Thank you 86Scotty!

Thank you daveb! Being able to pack them small was one of the main reasons I ended up making my own window coverings and now bug screens!

They look great! If you decide to make anymore, I would purchase a set.

These look great. I currently haphazardly magnet some stiffer pieces of screen on the outside but it still lets a few bugs in. I'm trying to decide if I should make something along these lines or do the interior screens that a few others have tried. Do you have a link for the flexible screen mesh you're using?
