How does CCV lift mechanism attach to fiberglass top?

Hi all,

I have been researching the Colorado Camper Van top and the lift mechanism and I can't seem to find much information or pictures specially regarding how the lift mechanism attaches to the fiberglass top.

At one point, from what I have seen, SMB used through bolts but from photos I have see it does not appear that there are any bolts going through the fiberglass top of the CCV so I am wondering how the lift mechanism attaches if there are no through bolts.

Any pictures would be extremely helpful. I have previous read/gone through posts from a member here having a medium CCV top installed, along with other posts from members but have been unsuccessful in finding the answer to my question.

The top is attached the lifting rails by large stainless flathead screws and washers on the outside going to nuts/washers on the inside. There are three on each side.

The front to back rails on mine is unistrut. It has 3 bolts per side as described by 1der. I have to tighten the nuts on the inside periodically.

Hi Otter! Thank you for the picture! I am in the process of collecting/organizing information and notes that I have on the SMB and CCV tops with the plan to start this fall/early winter doing a home build top. I've found a local salvage yard with a fiberglass top from a early 2000's E-150 conversion van so that is what I will be starting with!
