How to remove trim?

I have a '04 Ford E-350 EB. I did some really basics bench to store camping stuff and at night it turns into a bed. I have no PH yet, maybe next year. After watching a lot of interior, I liked the idea of storage inside the barn door.

I was wondering how to remove the trim, I'm pretty sure I just need to pull but I don't want to crack it so I need someone to confirm

Also I was wondering, cause I was able to peek behing the trim, is there really a hole in the door or do you have to cut it? Not the plastic I mean the metal.

I want to do something like on that door on the right.

Re: How to remove trim?

Smart do not pull on the door panel. Ford door panels lift up to come off, pulling straight out will break all the hangers and frustrate the day lights out of you. First you have to remove the pull handle screws to do that use a little straight edge and pluck out the little rectangle filler pieces on each end of the door pull there will be phillips screws behind them. once those are out I think the panel should lift off. if it doesn't don't force it there may be another screw or two somewhere else. The door does have a odd shaped hole in it you will need to cut the steel to your new desired shape, not a big deal a jig saw works just fine.
Good luck.

Re: How to remove trim?

but the panel are made of two pieces. The bottom one, where I want to put the trap is underneath the top part, the one that surrounds the window. I've looked around that top piece and I didn't see any screws or little rectangle. That is why I thought I should pull on that top part. For the bottom part I saw some screws and then I know I have to lift it up.

Tonight I'll go an recheck again if I didn't miss something. Maybe I'll post a picture so my explanation are clear.

Thanks DSW for taking the time. This forum is so great.

Re: How to remove trim?

Your right the window frame part pops straight off you just have give it a quick pop and it snaps off. then the bottom panel will lift off with the screw removed.
