Interesting Video on Wago Lever Nut Wire Connectors

I've started using these around the house for both 120V and low voltage DC wiring and they're super easy and secure. Here's a pretty comprehensive video on the topic with respect to RVs and Vans.

https://youtu.be/7fzfaEsrp5g

I'll be using them on my van projects from now on. They're especially convenient for tapping into an existing circuit. They're the same type of connectors found in the terminal blocks of many electrical components like surge suppressors, etc.

Those connectors are the absolute standard in Germany! It’s like a Kleenex or Scotch tape in Germany.

Those connectors are super wide in terms of specs for wire diameter and power.

Here's what I bought as a starter pack:

I forgot to mention that they work on both solid and stranded wire.

Never heard of them until today. Impressive video. What I love is the re-usability. I reuse everything I can in the shop. Considering the rising cost of wiring/terminals/etc. this could be a real money saver when re-doing or upgrading projects.

Been using them for over a year and nothing but good things to say so far. Easy and secure.

Now you tell me about these! I could have really used these last month when I redid some electrical. Thanks for the link to the video.

@BCam with that starter kit you linked, how often do you use the 5 conductor? 5 conductor seems like it wouldn't get used much in an automotive/camper set up. Thoughts?

I haven't, but they could be used if you wanted to supply four devices, maybe lights, off one feed. Essentially, they could also be used in lieu of a buss.

I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0957T1S9C...roduct_details. I already used two of the WAGOs and they are awesome. Made the project I was working on MUCH easier than what I would have had to do with traditional connectors. It is a clean solution.

FYI - there are numerous knock off brands on Amazon. And I am sure there are also numerous counterfeit WAGO products. Following some research I determined that a seller on Amazon called Peppy Products sells authentic Wago products, which is the seller I purchased from.

Thank you for the recommendation.

Looks interesting! My only concern would be the lever-locks loosening or opening over time due to road vibrations, especially for those who use their vans off road.

Check out some of these links:

Most commonly, I would expect the Wago connectors to be used in an unsupported situation. In that case, the flexibility of the wires should insulate them from vibration.
