Looking for pictures of ladder mounts e-series

Hi all,

I知 looking to make a homemade side ladder for our E-series van build. Aluminess seems to be the one to get but we have Flarespace flares so I知 looking to make one that fits over the flares. I知 wondering if anyone have pictures of how the Aluminess or other ladders attach to the gutter/roof of the Ford e-series van? As well as pictures of the parts/components of how it attaches? I致e searched but haven稚 come up with much. Any help and or pictures would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi. Check out my thread. I have numerous photos of the Aluminess ladder, including install.

You can order the gutter mount brackets from Aluminess, I acquired an extra set a year ago for another project I haven't started yet.
The picture below shows the bracket - cups over the drip rail and held secure with two set screws on the top (which screw down into the drip rail to hold in place). You can see the ladder mounting plate that's welded to the ladder tube then attaches to the bracket with two screws on the front. Hope that helps.

Ladder mounts

I chose to go without any mounts. Thought it would be simpler. The top as show in the below pics is a hook design that I covered with sections of bike inner tubes. The ladder was built with about 1/4" interference with the wheel eyebrow. So the ladder was sprung into place and screws placed at the bottom into the wheel eyebrow. Ladder has worked fine.

Hi Otter thank you for the link to your build! Very impressive!

Boywonder, if you have pictures of your own mount design that would be awesome. Does it mount similar to the aluminess mount?

Twoxentrix that is very helpful! Thank you! So the two smaller bolts do screw down through the drip rail? Do you happen to remember what you paid for the pair of gutter mount brackets?

Hi LenS,
Thank you for your reply! Did you make your ladder or have it made?

I want to say it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $100, but I'd suggest calling them - price has escalated on everything!

Yes similar mounting but beefier machined aluminum...set screws instead of pan head screws, etc....I bought the pair above years ago and guessing they were around $50-ish..really can't remember. I sold them on the forum here once mine were completed, never used them.
