Way back when Windows 98ME was THE OS I bought an Autodesk product called QuickCAD for a whopping $59.95 IIRC. It was and remains the only CAD software I've used---it works with Win7 in Virtual Machine mode so I can still use it when/if the need arises.
At the time the version I had rivaled an Autodesk program marketed to professional users costing over $7,000
---I discovered that from a friend who'd paid that and was HIGHLY agitated when looking through the user's manual and the actual program in use. When she confronted Autodesk about this their response was "we no longer sell that program......" No consolation after the fact but it made me feel good about a shrewd but clueless acquisition I'd made.
As far as moving things around look for an option called "grouping". Once you create a 2D part such as a fridge "group" and save it. Once done that series of lines becomes an entity you can drag and drop just about anywhere on your drawing.
Not sure that's helpful but maybe so........
