Quick update.
I hope I don't insult anyone by my choices :-/
I pulled the trigger on a Camco/Olympian wave 3 3000btu heater, after reading the reviews on amazon, I feel comfortable with it, I got a pretty good deal on ebay at 147$, I will return the Mr heater little buddy I got earlier this year.
I like the propex that mounts under the van (1000$) but for now I'm ok with my choice, I don't even know if I'll camp in cold conditions so we'll see.
I also pulled the trigger on this kit by Camco
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014JG7RQ/...XQY7G6H8&psc=1
I havent pulled the trigger on the pressure regulator yet, I'm looking at this one.
Amazon.com: Camco 59323 Horizontal Two Stage Propane Regulator: Automotive
I still haven't found anything on the grey cover everyone seems to have??
I also updated my LP gas diagram.

The connections all have to be done under the floor of the van. The only connection inside the van is at each appliance. All tees and such must be outside (under) the van.

I also have a couple of questions.
As you can see in this picture/drawing I need to add an elbow for the 12ft hose, otherwise I would have the hose bend on the other side of the van before going under it.
is this a standard fitting 90 brass elbow or do I need something special?
Also, I want to end the 12ft hose on the side of my van, ready to connect the BBQ grill or a portable LP gas campfire (eventually), what is the best way to do this?
They will each have their own hoses and regulators.
I will probably have to remove the quick connect fitting on the grill?

teflon tape is only used for NPT (tapered) pipe threads.....
There is special (yellow) teflon tape for natural gas...not sure if it's also used for propane....
If you don't have any NPT threads, you don't need any tape.....

On your campfire and grill......two regulators in series typically don't play well with each other......Never dealt with two regulators in propane.........

Thanks for the info boywonder.
I will get a couple of rolls of that yellow tape.
not sure where you see two regulators in series, if you look at my LP gas diagram the 12ft hose is connected before the main regulator.
the 12ft hose will end near the side of the van, I will plug either the bbq grill or the campfire on the 12ft hose.
the campfire has an 8ft hose with regulator.
the bbq grill has a 5ft hise with regulator.

The drawing is trop petit sur mon iPad and won't enlarge to see your note.
Est ce que c'est possible de trouver un nouveau RV et voir la systeme de propane? Cinq minutes au dessous peut te donner beaucoup d'information.
Sans frais!
