Have you installed the refrigerator yet? Because it would be too close to the van chassis fuel filler. RVIA standards require at least 36" horizontal distance between the fuel filler location and any open flame (like a propane refrigerator burner). I would assume that you have similar regulations in Canada.

We did put our propane frig in that location. We also had the gas filler relocated aft to make it legal.

Yes NFPA is in regulation here also.

The way I planned it out is that my lower side vent will be sealed off and be used primarly as an access hatch, for hooking up the fridge in the rear.

The floor behind the fridge will be opened and I will add some galvanised sheeting (duct) so that the air actually comes from the front, at least 36" away from the fuel intake. I will also add 3 computer fans pushing the air out (30cfm each) on the higher side wall exhaust and they will be hooked up to the fridge's circuit.

And if that doesn't work I was thinking of removing the sealed backing and adding a on/off swith with timer delay set to 15min on the gas inlet door, so when I stop to fuel up, as soon as I open the fuel door the switch turns the fridge off for 15 minutes. So no sparks possible near those gas fumes.

I will be cuting the opening in the side wall today actually, for the fridge's rear side wall vent and also cuting the floor.
