LP gas Diagram, help needed.

Hi everyone,

I'm working on my very first DIY camper conversion, using a 2010 extended Ford E250.

I need to buy the equipment needed for the whole LP gas system.
I already bought and installed a Manchester 7.9gal horizontal tank (6814) that's the starting point.

No I will not do the work myself, I will have a professional do it but by buying the equipment myself I will save a lot of money, up here in Canada most of the RV equipment is at least 2 to 3 times more expensive. I'm buying it online and getting it in the US.

I need to get the fittings, hoses, regulators, valves etc...
The piping I will get up here in the hardware stores.

What type of pressure regulator should I get? 2 stages? plastic cover?

So If you can give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Someone made me realize I got the wrong heater (Mr Heater Little Buddy) it only takes high pressure...
The info and videos I had seen were about the bigger model (Mr heater Big Buddy) who also has a low pressure intake...

Don't know what I'll do, the bigger model is a very tight fit in my small camper :-/

This model seems interesting :

LP gas Diagram, help needed.

Refrigeration coil (soft copper coil) and flare fittings are readily available at most hardware stores. Flare tools are pretty easy to use too. That's about all you'll need past the regulator to complete the system. You can do it yourself I bet but you may want to have it checked by a professional after.

Evy, check on what material the lines have to be made from. Soft copper running under the vehicle may not be allowed ici. I think they have to be some specific type of braided line. Maybe rubber with crimped ends. Who is doing your installation?

Also I note your second diagram has a 20 lb tank stored in the rear box. Check on the regulations for that position as well. Why carry another tank?

Hey fellow Canadian
For the piping, I will check with the installer, you need a special permit in Quebec to do this kind of job.
My buddy has a camper and his piping is schedule 40 thick metal tubing under it.

As for the 20lb tank, I just thought I would be really useful when boondocking, I even heard you can fill the main tank with it, is that possible? or legal? or safe...

I would've liked that but I don't think we have that option up here :-/
Although maybe I can help him out to save on installation time.
