I'm lovin' "The Year of the Van"!! I get so much 'wife approved' time in the shop! (Though unfortunately for me, if the wife doesn't start seeing results on a few key projects, it could have detrimental effects on TYOTV). I can't be too cavalier about this shop time.

This weekend I'm updating the front Sienna seats to the '15 models with slightly darker grey leather and black trim.

Kinda routine at this point but it still takes hours to get through the list of details.

I'm also making some HUGE progress on CAD design of various projects. Some you know about and some new stuff coming up (keen eyes may be able to spot hints as to what I'm working on in these pics...). Has a lot to do with finally recovering from the injury sustained in the last couple weeks of the SEMA build. That sh*t was debilitating...glad it's over. I was afraid my days of creating awesome in the shop were numbered.

*Fort George Magnanimous IPA highly recommended for those of you in the NW

And....done!

I may be interested in the old set of Seats if you don't already have plans for them!

Keen eye indeed... I've gotten wise in my old age and started using a hoist for the heavy lifting.

We moved 7 or 8 of them yesterday, into the new shop, on a rack - fork lift.

It is amazing how much heavier they are then our TTB's.

Because they are designed for vehicles with GCWR of 30,000 lbs... 90's F-series trucks with TTBs were what... a third of that capability. Newer axles are heavier because of their design intent. I don't see it as a disadvantage. I'll build my interior to a fraction of the weight of a SMB for real weight savings.

There are no plans for any transit builds at this time Ramsey. Don't try to stir up rumors.

Why would you say that?

I'm not stirring up anything, just trying to guess what it is that you were alluding to (stirring up) in your post... and saw your pictures.

So what is it?
I have the extra axle (and extra frame) to, among other things, use for mock up of parts that I'm designing to fix stuff I don't like about my Quadvan. And I have plans for the axle outside of van stuff.
