I'm fumbling around with a design something like a miniature version of 1der's awning Z-brackets. Would probably hold 100 of these light weight cameras. Maybe mine is overkill..

It's exactly the same as a GM pick-up truck and most other trucks on the road.

Independent front (yes, A-arm) and live rear axle.

A day before a recent trip my only Amazon Prime Day purchase showed up, a Viair OBA setup. I needed it for the trip so I got busy installing and it paid off. We wound up aired-down for over half of our trip. What this means to the uninformed is that we were off road enough to need it a lot! The OBA was priceless.

The van came with an Aluminess rear with lots of storage, a feature of Aluminess rears I didn't even know about before i bought this van. Good place to mount and hide a compressor. Not really much of a pic but you get the idea:

Only one chuck since I have a 50' hose. Tank mounted under van:

Big surprise. And perhaps an easter egg for anyone interested in this van. Everything I said at the beginning of this post is true. I love this van. Always have. It is about 80% of what we want. However, it took a total of ONE trip for her to declare that vans are the way for us and shes' not interested in fooling with anything else. I agree. Between a few vans I've owned over the last few years we have played around with an Ursa Minor Jeep pop top, a truck with RTT and now that same truck with a Super Pacific pop top. All fun, none as ideal as a van for the way we like to travel.

That said, I'm in the process of ordering a new Transit AWD. The Chevy is a great van but we want a new van. I'm going to try something I've never done. I'm going to order a new vehicle with all the options I want in the color I want. Those who know me know I might keep it a few years or a few weeks.

All that said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this wonderful Chevy AWD and I will be upgrading it slowly unless someone expresses interest. It isn't advertised anywhere, this is just a hidden nugget for the fine folks of the SMB forum, for now. I have a CRL window about to go in and several other parts I'm adding slowly. If I get to the interior this winter it will be refurbished in to a '50' with galley behind the driver and foldable bed/bench seat towards the rear instead of the current platform bed.

Since life is no fun without van pics, here she is on Cinnamon Pass on a picture perfect day this past summer.

Well that happened fast! Not surprised....looking forward to seeing your work happen on the Transit. Any idea of lead times on them right now?

So a white AWD Transit. Sounds exciting!
