My cabinet build

Hello all. I'm relatively new to the forum. I'm working on the interior of an eb 350 that was converted by van specialties in oregon. My initial project is a cabinet for the bed area to add more accessible storage to the living space. The cabinets are going on the side wall of our bed area and the hope is that this doesn't make the sleeping area too small. Mostly this will be pictures of my progress.

First pic above was my first attempt at a frame. Trying to keep it light I used 1x2 but it was too weak for my clumsy efforts.

Next stop 2x3 instead.

Then put it all together in the back of the van.

I'm waiting to to see how tall our sleeping surface ends up being before putting on doors. I'm thinking that sliding doors would be the way to go, but I'm trying to figure out how to maximize access to the compartments for two people.

The next stage which I started this weekend is building another cabinet that sits on top of this one.

I work by my garage in a condo complex, and after I was done cutting and sanding on Saturday I looked over at my neighbor's car to see a fine layer of sawdust on her hood and windshield. So I knocked on her door and contributed to her next carwash. Lesson learned. Cut and sand on the far side of the van, and check the wind direction.

Re: My cabinet build

Appears to be a few climbers on here. Maybe we should have a SMB Climbing meetup. Even invite newbees to the rush.

Yosemite?

Lol. Outed by a piton hammer. I think I'm going to be in Yosemite for most of October. A meetup could be fun. Though Tuolumne might be more beginner friendly.

Yep, here too.

Headed to Moab April 1 for the week, but won't leave the Creek except maybe a rest day.

West coast is a long way from home.

Re: My cabinet build

Finally finished the cabinet today. I think I probably had to cut every piece at least twice getting the curves just right.
