Re: New Aluminess bumper

I have 2 Hella Rallye 4000i HID Flood pattern for the outside 2 lights and 1 Hella Rallye 4000i HID driving pattern for the center light coming sometime in February. They are backordered and the word is they are on a container ship enroute from Germany now. The flood pattern is a little wider than the driving pattern. I'll use the floods to aim a little wide for better visibility on the side of the road and the driver straight down the center of the road. My goal is to melt the eyes out of any of those hooved rodents that even think about becoming a hood ornament.

I also ordered 2 Hella 500 FF Free Form Fog lamps. I upgraded the bulbs the bulbs to 100W and should get these lights early next week.

The bumper looks kind of naked without any lights in the holes.

I'll be working on sealing the vent holes today. I'll post pictures of that modification when I figure that project out.

Re: New Aluminess bumper

I finally got around to making the vent cover for the front bumper. I bought a $12 piece of scrap aluminum and cut it to look like this

This is what it looks like installed. It is being held in place by the license plate bolts and the fairlead bolts. The top notch is for the winch box lid lock arm. The bottom tabs are for the fairlead bolts.

I decided not to paint it right away. It's just a sanded aluminum and I kind of like the contrast between the aluminum and the bumper. It may get sprayed gloss black within the next couple of days. I didn't use any sealant around the edges yet. I don't want to apply that stuff until I decide on the color.
