they are rough country stabilizers, i wish they were ranchos or bilstens, but seem to work just fine.

this is my second KTM, 450exc, had a 400mxc before this. i sat on what will be my next last weekend as well, a '12 350excf--weight of a 250, power of a 450 with the FI. think it will be a game changer, just gotta hold off a couple years and get one used

Cool, my last was a 400 e/xc and I looked around for one not too long ago and couldn't even find one used, at any price. My next will more than likely be a dual sport though. I want something I can ride to work. I built a Kawasaki 400 in to a commuter that I actually raced some enduros on in street legal form. It was fun but that was before I rode a KTM. I'll probably never have another brand again.

I saw the picture of your propane tanks and wondered, since I thought it was illegal to carry them inside like that. At least it looks like they are secured behind your seat? Not that being illegal is necessarily meaningful but with my experience in boats, propane in an enclosed space has always worried me.

propane worries me more strapped underneath waiting for a high center on a rock, or strapped to the back door waiting for a rear end situation. every camper carries those disposable green bottles inside or bigger tanks like these for extended stays. but those are my thoughts and might not be the thoughts of everyone--or johnny law man--ha. i always worried more about propane tanks underneath westfalias which always suffered from corrosion as well

oh yeah--i also have a ktm 640 adventure for my dual sport. i do have the dirt bikes street legal as well though but its more for trail head to trail head riding

wife has been away on business, and ive been trying to wrap up or get to alot of my projects, like finish a motorcycle i have been ground up building on and off for 1.25 years and TONS of lil things. one project i have been putting off since i hate laying on the ground in my old age (at least i feel old) has been the extremeaire compressor and 2 gal tank install. its all in and ready to go, but the pressure switch was not, new one on the way. install turned out nice me thinks. oh yeah, i picked this up used, so not extreme outbacks fault the switch was bad.

got my pressure switch today, everything works as it should now. filled 265/70/17 tire from 15psi to 60psi in roughly 5 minutes (5min 25 sec to be exact but i pulled it off to read pressure several times). quite pleased with that. i should have tried my impact wrench--doh

hi-lift jack mount, since I've had several VW syncros where i was required to put the spare on that back when going bigger than stock, im relishing keeping my spare underneath this time--unless i decide i want under floor storage. figured the spare tire swing was a good place for it




maybe it will go in front eventually, but here for now

Mike, I've got my date set in a couple of weeks with Derek at CCV to do my pop top. One thing extra he is doing for me is Yakima tracks so I can add my own bars and box. Can you tell me how wide your bars are? I'm guessing 78" by looking, and I'm also curious how wide he was able to put your tracks? My top will be very similar to yours except extended length.

the cross bars are actually 66". i may or may not cut them narrower since they hong out a ways, i have a couple other sets around i need to look at as well. my tracks are set roughly 43" apart on center--slightly narrower towards the rear though since it worked better that way. the roof is not totally flat so he had to do what he had to do. i got the longest tracks from yakima, 60" i believe
