new project, like i needed another
Thanks, I guess your bars look wider since the top narrows, so I'm sure I'm gonna want shorter than my 78s. They don't go out past my mirrors but as you get up higher you're likely to snag something I guess.
Thanks for the info!

Re: new project, like i needed another
I found my stock 4 jerry can holder from aluminess to interfere with keeping my moto rack nice and tight to the body (not extended out to far), although it is nice when i am on a non-moto trip and easily interchangeable. here is what i came up with to carry 2 jerry cans (1 diesel and 1 gas--or water even) and a nice flip down tray for cooking/bar.

That's really sweet! I'm trying to think up an outside grill stand (on the van) as well since I have no room for a galley box on my side door. I don't have Aluminess bumpers, but hmmm, you've got me thinking.

Pictures of the project during the install would be nice.

Wow you have a nice UPS man...I never get any presents from mine, just stuff I pay for. But I get bad attitude at no extra charge from one of them.
How did you (and the UPS man) decide on the ENGO brand? It looks nice, well made and compact...
Great van and build thread by the way...

Re: new project, like i needed another
i decided on engo after all the reviews i read, and the synthetic option was necessity for me. when they told me the 12K syn option was coming for a reasonable price, decision was made. i think winches are one of the most over priced pieces of equipment out there, sure you gotta weigh the price of safety, i guess my safety isnt worth alot--haha.
seriously though, ive heard nothing but good from engo reviews, slow is the only drawback so far, but hey speed kills to. ive i like it i will be buying one for my wifes rubicon i need to start building (when it actually arrives--on order)

Re: new project, like i needed another
not much of an install write up since there isnt much to talk about, 6 bolts, 4 wire connections on the winch, snake the 2 long wires to the battery and connect there, go pull some stumps. oh yeah, got my front receiver mounted at the same time (uses the winch mount bolts)

Re: new project, like i needed another
It looks good in there...
Do you have a drain hole or two now that water can get in from the front?
How did it work pulling the stumps?
