new van build
I have not posted many projects on here lately so I figured I would post this one up. The van started life as 15 pass window van 7.3 quigly conversion. I had a used top here at the house we were able to clean up ,repaint and use to save some money.
used top
the condition of the van delivered to me
interior gutted ready to hack off the roof
roof with new paint
roof cut off
waiting for the van
van with new roof
lifting hardware
side view
next few days will be arctic package insulated canvas, head liner and finish trim.

Re: new van build
Looks great. I love the lower raised roof poptop. I think my next build will be that finding these VW tops is getting harder.
thanks for the pictures
I would also love to see some pictures of that Branco in the background of the first picture.

Re: new van build
Very impressive. Best of both worlds. I had an '02 Quigley w/Voyager and I thought it had terrible ventilation. Unbearably hot in June--sold in July. The penthouse has terrific light and ventilation in comparison.

Re: new van build
You did a really nice job cleaning up and reusing that top for the van. Looks like a very cool pop-top, and we need to see more pics of it when complete.
Love the Broncos! Got a 351W, ZF 5 speed, and Atlas (5:1) in mine.

Might very well be, but at most I run a soft top, most of the time a bikini top (insert jokes here), and sometimes without a top at all (insert more jokes here).
I did just place an order for a new soft top from BC Broncos though. It will support a roof rack....

Re: new van build
I have also built upper exo racks that go around a soft top to hold a top bunk unfortunately I have no pictures of them though.
