noob help!!!! need a bench/bed

i have a 2001 15 pass e350

looking for a good option for a forward facing bench with seatbelt (3) that can found down into a bed. that can line up with a platform to make a bigger bed. kinda like the sport mobile style.

thanks

That's going to be hard to find. I'm not aware of anyone that makes one but I hope someone links it if it's out there. Most here build theirs but it's not a simple thing to build, lots of metal fab skills necessary to make it sturdy and safe. I would keep looking in salvage yards for a Chateau (Ford package with the folding rear bench) or a custom van with a fold down rear bench. Many of them had them. All you need is the frame so don't be put off by the condition of the seat. You would definitely want to refoam and recover an older custom van seat, or at least I would, and if you're OK with lap belts only that's pretty easy to add by just getting some universal ones and bolting them to the floor.

If it were easy to make a folding bench seat/bed, that is both comfortable and safe, you'd see a lot more options out there. Building the seat for the SEMA van was quite involved and nothing came easy. Your collective heads would explode if you knew how much that seat cost to build.

shop4seats ask 620$ for the shipping & handling.
It's crazy.

I have a Ford folding bench seat that folds out into bed from a 96 chateau with quick release mounting plates if anyone interested. Factory Ford part. Legally seats three with belts. I also have two captains chairs with quick release plates. From same van. Heck I still have the van it even runs 380k.

Thanks Jjuan! I remember seeing the ShopforSeats place before but had forgotten. That looks like a great option. As for DiscountVanTruck, having used them a time or two before, I would recommend against it. Unless I have to I will never give them another dollar. Too harsh?
