We just finished the first of many planned trips exploring Canada - 25 day, 5000 km (3000 miles) tour of Ontario. We are heading east for the month of September - Magdalen Islands and Prince Edward Island. We are very happy with our home build. After adding a Propex heater I am kidding myself that the build is finished.
> Samlex solar
> Xantrex battery monitor
> Blue Sea auto charge relay
> Trojan 12v AGM house batteries - 2x 24Ah
> Baltic birch plywood cabinets
> ARB awning
> Corian counter (leftover from kitchen reno)
> SMB swivel seat bases
> Propex HS 2000 heater (runs from 5lb portable tank or 1lb cylinders)
> Fan-Tastic vent
> Removable chuck box
> Engel 45l fridge (accessible from inside and outside)
> Jabsco water pump (noisy - is there such a thing as a quiet 12v pump?)
> LED interior lights
> Swing away tire carrier (second spare for remote trips such as Tuktoyaktuk)
We just survived the remnants of Hurricane Dorian that was almost a direct on the Magdalen Islands. We stayed in our van hiding behind a building. I may have to change my standard recommendation: “September is the best time to visit the east coast of Canada”.
