Our Idaho project

I started a welcome mat post, and a couple replies sort of got out of hand, so I thought I should move this to the right forum.

Starting with a 2000 E350 V10 RB. I needed to catch up on general maintenance (plugs, fluids, etc.), replaced the steering box (stock Motorcraft replacement) and fill all the holes leftover from the work racks.

Cleaned up the inside and Bully Lined it, plus full coverage sound deadener. Covered the floor with 5/8" OSB. Sound deadener in the back and side doors, plus 1/4" plywood door cards. 3/8" plywood fenders, and rock wool in the side walls.

Made a trip to Fiberine for a 20" aero top, with added wood in the sides and top. I have to put a plug in for the folks at Fiberine, real class act and quality work.

But wait, there's more!

The lights were crap, so I replaced the head and tail lights with halogen bulbs, and stuck a set of old new-in-the-box KCs on the front.

I found a set of the super duty style mirrors and finagled them to work.

We did a bunch of insulation work in the top and part of the sides. Decided to use some tongue and groove wood for the sides and top. We had Fiberine leave the original roof intact from the back doors to the first roof beam, so we could make a cabinet up there.

Wired the fan, lights, power points, and lights inside the cabinets.

Getting ready for a trip to AJ's in Oregon for the 4X4 conversion soon.

More incidentals. Swivel seat base, cloth headliner, mirrors, flip out windows, bed frame.

Naturally I intend to finish out all the edges and bits, but I still have a lot of wiring to run for the electrical system, overhead lights, door locks, etc.

We have the fridge (iceco 60l) and sink/burner combo on hand, but haven't got that far with the install.

Nice! I like the dark wood and blue contrast.

Did some more work

So I got my electrics wired in, minus the actual battery cables ('cause I didn't buy enough cable).

Got the front on the fridge slider, plus the handle and latch.

And now it's calico! working on the monstaliner paint job. Finished the top (that's a bear), front clip and back doors. Everything else is prepped, just waiting on weather.

I'm slammed with Guard stuff this month, so it's going to be a near thing getting the paint finished before I drop it off the 1st for the 4X4 conversion.

4X4 done, getting closer

Well, the 4X4 work is done, just waiting for the rack, ladder, and sliders to come back from powder coating. I'll be on the road home with it tomorrow.
