Re: Out with the old, in with the new

Guess what showed up today? The plan is to mount this where my Fantastic Vent is, and move the vent forward. This is a 9200BTU model that will run off of my Honda 2000 watt generator. I plan to plasti-dip the shroud black and mount it up!

More to follow

Re: Out with the old, in with the new

continued................Swivel passenger seat install.

I've been waiting to do this one for awhile. I'm hoping it opens up the interior space like I think it will. I got the Discount Truck/Van swivel base for the OEM passenger seat. I was sad to see it doesn't have a hole in the center to route the Airbag/seatbelt wire through, but I made do with a couple of suggestions here to route it at the back. I'm not quite through yet, I'm going to put the wire right up against the round center of the base and hide enough wire up top for it to swivel all the way around without binding. Also, I really hated to lose my under seat drawer, so I'm going to move that base and drawer to one of the back seats.

First I built a box around the base to hold stuff in place

Then carpeted it and mounted it to the base with L-brackets

I absolutely love this addition. It's one of my favorites so far. Very simple but for my floorplan it finally allows a place to actually sit and visit inside the van without feeling like you are sitting in a vehicle

AC install coming soon!

I agree, both seats (driver and passenger) swivel in my SMB and it really creates a nice "living" area. Very nice install BTW !

Your family does a better job of keeping your van clean then mine does. Looking good!

Lol, That would be me. I clean it often. I can't stand it otherwise. Too many years of driving slimy work trucks I share with guys who were obviously born in barns.

Out with the old, in with the new

We love our swivel seats. I rotate them right after the top goes up. Seems to make the interior much bigger. You will definitely enjoy it.
