It's a shame to have to work in such deplorable conditions.

What an incredible job! We're in ABQ, any chance of taking a look at it when you're finished?

Thanks everyone. The shop is just a place where I work.
I wish I have a garage this big

Velo,
Of course it's ok to check it out. Always a pleasure to meet like minded people. It will take me few more days to get it all finished up.

Oh heck yeah----we need a thread on that space too I'm thinking?

Even though my current weather is "mild" by Midwest standards working outside in the driveway trying to finish my work van build-out is NOT fun at all. I think some days sheer frustration turns into aggravation that turns into increased body heat and allows me to power through.

Of course the neighbors all think I'm insane---I have to agree they might have a point!

I was quite busy last month, but got some work done to get the van close to finish. (It is never really finished, lol)
I was not happy how the bed rails were just kind of bolted to the roof. It seem like a not enough support. I used the leftover crossmembers from roof and sectioned them to make a small mid supports. Then I riveted them to the walls top.
This definitely improved the stiffness and next thing was to get rid of some squeaks and rattles.
Finally having most of the interior covered up and almost ready to use it for the first time. Hope to get a trip to Moab in April secured.

Quite the journey and even though painful in the early stages, it ended up great. Glad it worked out in the end.

Just stopped by and looked at Michal's van. He did an incredible job with the pop-top, including several improvements on the original design. What a job!

Looks good

I bought a newer SMB top for my little bus can we are working on. Picking it up from a member her at CCV Colorado next month. Any chance I could come by and see the van? Just want to see some things and make sure I do it right. Either way excellent work and a great write up.
