Another small update. Finishing up headliner and wiring for lights and fan. Made new "plates" to hold lift bars and gather new aluminum bolts to install them with.
I will be working on the canvas this week and ordere all the sewing supplies minus the canvas from Sailrite.com
They have great product and excellent videos on YouTube
The headliner part is narrower than original for reason. I will be making frame to hold canvas in place,so servicing canvas won't require removing the headliner.
Just removing the perimeter frame.

Nice work, very well thought out and much better than the original design, I am impressed you brought that top back to life. Bummer you had to do so much work but its looking great.

Major component done. I have spend 3 days sewing the piece. Mostly coppied the original canvas. Sewed in insect screen and zipper for clear vinyl windows.
I skipped making front window, since there is windshield in the front to look out from. Or maybe I was just lazy to do so...
This was my first time sewing project and honestly a very complicated piece to learn on.

First sewing project,

Looks well done.

I have been sewing for years, but have not done a project of this size.

Nice sewing machine too.

Thanks Marret,
This was definitely a steep learning curve. I think I may make another one, slightly different and have it as a spare.
The machine is super cool, but not mine. I was lucky to have it borrowed for a week.

As others on this forum have mentioned before, a sewing machine is a power tool.

I'm amazed how aggressively that you've tackled this project, and how well you've done. Great job.
