So did you end up with a steel base piece from MG or just go with the l-track mounted through the plywood bolted through the van? It looks awesome and is exactly what I plan to do. Any pics on the bottom side of how they secured the l-track to the van?

Mothgils: There’s no steel base piece. The l track is bolted through the van floor and nuts and washers fixed underneath the van. I’ll try to post some pics of that. You might be referring to the steel X templates that come with the kit? They’re for lining up the L-Track correctly. It has to be absolutely parallel or you’re in trouble. Mine seems to be right on target, thank goodness. If you go ahead with this plan, I think you’ll enjoy it. I waited over three years for MG to build this system and gather all the components in a single place. It’s perfect and I’m glad I didn’t give in to the temptation to just go with the seat bolt-in Option.

BTW, the seats require a new base to fit the Unwins. So, if you have your seats on the old base, as I did, you’ll need to switch. Plenty of folks to sell the old ones to, though.

That certainly is a sharp system for the seats - versatility of your system invites all kinds of ideas that one could adapt to it. Very impressive!

Thanks Twoxentrix. Multiple possibilities is what I was going for. Gonna be fun figuring that out!

Thanks for the pics, Otter!

Did they plug or cap the original seat holes in the floor?

That floor looks great. We have the same idea for seats and cabinets. I really liked the way Michael had designed his.

Care to share how much Van Specialties charged for the floor install?

I want to go the same route but had my dreams dashed recently.
I contacted BaseFab about installing the floor for me. I was told they don’t work on the Econoline anymore.
I have the 2 Ford captains chairs in the back that I’d like to put the Unwin lockers on.
They told me the Unwin won’t mount to the Ford seats. The lockers want a flat base to mount to and BaseFab hasn’t created a mount for the Ford seats.

Seems I’ll need to find a way to mount the Unwin myself. I don’t plan to have extra passengers often so I don’t want to spend extra on Sienna seats.

Geeeez, I have to ask if the Van has ever been out of the driveway??? Other than a little dust, looks like the undercarriage has never seen the elements - wish mine looked that clean.
