Mothgils: I had plugged all the holes with screw-in bolts when I took out the original seats. I asked Andy at Van Specialties to do the same with those remaining from the Sienna bolts.
That floor looks great. We have the same idea for seats and cabinets. I really liked the way Michael had designed his.
Care to share how much Van Specialties charged for the floor install?
I want to go the same route but had my dreams dashed recently.
I contacted BaseFab about installing the floor for me. I was told they don’t work on the Econoline anymore.
I have the 2 Ford captains chairs in the back that I’d like to put the Unwin lockers on.
They told me the Unwin won’t mount to the Ford seats. The lockers want a flat base to mount to and BaseFab hasn’t created a mount for the Ford seats.
Seems I’ll need to find a way to mount the Unwin myself. I don’t plan to have extra passengers often so I don’t want to spend extra on Sienna seats.
That’s a bummer! Well, it seems to me you could get creative with smoothed-over angle iron. I don’t know what the Ford captain chair bases look like but the Sienna mounts are just a fancy hunk of metal with lots of holes for various uses. Yours might not look just like it but would be specific to your needs. Or get a metal fabber to make you a one-off. It adds a crimp in your plan but I think it could be worth it. Here’s some pics to see how it all works. Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph the Unwins. But their website has great photos, as you probably know. The install was $3K.
Geeeez, I have to ask if the Van has ever been out of the driveway??? Other than a little dust, looks like the undercarriage has never seen the elements - wish mine looked that clean.
Hahaha! You’ve discovered one of the benefits of living in Portland. Rain keeps us pretty dirt-free nine months out of the year. Add to that my obsession with liking a clean van and dirt doesn't stand a chance. I came home from that dusty, grundgy Eastern Oregon Trip recently and washed the van within an inch of its life.
Your interior setup is exactly what I envisioned my perfect interior would be. My chateau seats are great, but being able to adjust the location of the seats makes it better. Match that with the reclining Siennas and its pretty much perfect.

2012 CTS-V Wagon - For the baby...
Finally had a chance to try out my new cargo rack and love it. All aluminum, super light weight. I don’t like putting heavy things up on the roof so this is a real back saver and useful for grundgy stuff I don’t want inside. I’m researching what kind of box I’d like to lock camp equipment in. I’ve looked at the soft bags but you definitely lose out on security there. Thinking of maybe taking up only half the space with that and leave the other half open. On my Wilco Hitchswing, I can have it as tall as I want and get it out of the way easily. Might make the right half a cooking station.
Creative ideas for lightweight, tall locking boxes and ways to securely but temporarily attach them are welcome!
