Looks like all of those d-ring solutions in the links use two or more bolts. The seat base and seat belt holes are single holes. How are you planning to use them, or are you really looking for a single bolt solution?

Joefromsf: it looked to me in the McMaster D-Ring illustrations that numbers 1 and 2 may utilize one bolt, which was what I was hoping to accomplish. I have yet to tear down the seat belts, but I assumed they were one bolt. Guess the choices are limited once you go there.

Speaking of Brian94ht, check out his build thread and most importantly the rear of the van. I think this is exactly what you were thinking of...

^^^^^ J, that's a great build on that link! Brian did a really nice job, didn't he? So cool that he figured out how to quiet that system down. And the transformer wall - you could carry anything back there and not get hurt!
Once I get those Siennas on a track, the next order of business will be the platform and boxes.
All this fabricating makes me wish I knew how to weld. Gonna add that to my list of "things I need to learn".

Yakimas and an Inuit kayak
Took the kayaks for a little ride today, on their way to winter storage. The rose/orange-colored one is a replica of an Inuit skin-on-frame kayak that I built. The frame is made of one inch Port Orford cedar hand lashed onto steam bent oak ribs. Each intersection is hand tied with waxed thread and the whole boat covered in fabric, then "painted" with a tinted epoxy for waterproofing. There are no nails or screws in this boat. The only metal is some brass bent rivets holding the oak I bent into the oval coaming around the cockpit.
Of course, the original Inuit kayaks were lashed with sinew and covered in walrus and seal skins. But mine smells better
Oh, and I was really happy with my four-bar Yakima system. Slid those boats right onto the roof by stepping on the hitch step. I love this van.

Thanks, J! It's a great tracking boat and weighs only 23 pounds. I built it so I could carry it easily and lift it onto the rack with less effort.

Table Beginnings and Swivel Seats
Gee, I was just about to spring for parts to build a hanging table when I remembered my roll up camp table. I already knew it was too tall on its regular legs, but discovered I can pop it on top of my dog's kennel, which is almost always in the van. Turns out, it's a perfect fit and height and takes up nearly no room when rolled.
Guess the fancy new table can wait a bit longer. I just hate it when I don't get to blow a bunch of money on new stuff and wind up using something I already had...
And, thanks to 1der's seat swivels, we now have a party room!
