Pitman arm for 4x4 conversion

I'm in the process of doing a conversion on my 05 e350 diesel. My donor truck is a 08 f350 4x4. All my suspension is in and now I have issue with my steering. My donor draglink end will not fit into my original pitman arm. The drag link end is to large for the hole. I was going to swap the drag link with my original one however the threads are not the same in the adjuster sleeve. I want to keep all of the components oem for future repairs. Can anyone point me in the right direction? correct pitman arm number?, drag ling part number?

Re: Pitman arm for 4x4 conversion

Which Pitman Arm do you have. One has the wide index splines inline and 90* to the pitman arm and the other lighter duty one has the wide index splines 45* form the center line of the pitman arm.

Pro Comp offers an FD400 for the lighter duty 45* sector shaft and the FD500 for the heavier duty inline sector shaft.

Either of which, if they clear everything will be longer also and increase your turning radius and speed.

The other option is to get a tapered reamer from the likes of Snap-on and ream to fit.

Re: Pitman arm for 4x4 conversion

My arm has the wider splines in line of center line and 90 degrees. I have room for a longer one and would be ok with that. Is there an om one that fits both criteria that I need?

The one for a '99 to '04 F250/350 will work but is a little longer.

That is the arm Salem-Kroger used on my 4wd conversion. Craig told me the longer arm was needed to prevent the steering box from being the stop in the steering.
