Re: Q: Ideas on bed frame and attachment

Hi nice looking cabinets...
They look very familiar to me were did you source the box-like clear wood sections?

Clear wood sections? Not sure what mean. Frame is maple and doors are cherry ply, with solid inserts for the hinges.

There will be a kitchen, behind the driver, as well as a swing out cabinet on the passenger door.

I have since removed the right bench and trying to make my new Rock and Roll hinges work, since I have had a design change on the bed

Re: Q: Ideas on bed frame and attachment

You could put them back and have little use items in under the bed storage on each side, I guess that's like 8 of your 16 cubbies. Or change it to a long opening front to back maybe. They look nice regardless, shame to lose any of them.

Q: Ideas on bed frame and attachment

Thanks jage, my buddy is a cabinet builder and I assisted him in the build.

I still have the large ones on the left, just removed the bench looking one and have a mockup of the bed/sofa.

The problem is that I didn't account for the seat blocking the doors. Rookie mistake. But on my behalf, my design of the bed has changed too, since the start of this thread. I have since bought some rock and roll hinges from regis on this forum.

I have a big trip coming up first week of may, so this mockup may have to work till after then.

I still would like to figure my original idea out, having a folding platform

When you get around to it, is there any chance you could post a video of the way those hinges operate? I realize you haven't built the bench/sofa yet, but i mean whenever you do get it all built.

Re: Q: Ideas on bed frame and attachment

Here is the first draft of the mockup bed. as you can see, access to my cabniets are limited... the main problem is the lower ones, as well as having had to remove the passenger "bench" that looked really good.

maybe going to reduce the width of the sofa as its 45" now, and two of us can easily sit snugly at 32"...

Quick update. Shortend the sofa to 34" and cutoff some of the "bench".

Now it is going to work well for my needs.
