I found a possible donor Ford van that has a full float rear axle, which brings me to some questions for all of you. How do I know what gearing it has? How do I know it will fit? any and all advice is much appreciated. Some Info to get your "gears" turning...I have an 07RBE350...I don't tow (often) and want to maximize what little MPG I can.
What year is the donor van? Every Dana/Spicer axle has a BOM #that can be found on the diff tag (if its still there) or it can be found on the pass side axle tube near the u bolts. May have to use a wire wheel & some cleaner to find it. Once you have that # the axle info can be found online.
You need an axle of similar vintage so the ABS systems are compatible. Check with a local recycler (wrecking yard) for interchange information.
