Reregistering e350 van to rv in Ca.

I search and didn't find much info on this. My registration is 439.00 (2002)or so and figure its got to be cheaper to register as an RV. Conversion is basically done ,Bed,micro, heater, water system ,sink and ref. but no toilet. I even have a rvia sticker that I stole from Pick and pull on the van!! Anyone deal with Ca DMV, Am i wasting my time . Thanks for the help

Might be worth the money to invest in an AAA membership. Their DMV services are worth every penny.

Nope. It's worth a shot. Mine is significantly cheaper. I do however have custom plates so that is $35 more a year. Cheaper on the insurance as well.

to my understanding AAA cant help you

the van needs to be verifield and then DMV will try ti change it.... it hard i have a call into the guy that does all of our dmv work on out carts but havent heard back from him yet.... that is one of the reasons for me to purchase the pass van...

AAA changed my van from commercial to passenger at my request. It was for an initial registration, though. Not sure if they could change what is already there.

Well I went to the DMV today , had to have been 75 people waiting in line to see maybe 5 attendents. I talked to the usher person and she gave me a form (Statement of Fact) and told me to state that the van had been converter to rv and return with the title, plates, and the van. They will inspect the van and make the change! I find this hard to believe it could be this easy. I will defintly get a appointment when i go. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Re: Reregistering e350 van to rv in Ca.

Just got back from the DMV Los Gatos. It took a total of 5 minutes to change the commercial registration to RV.I cant believe it 5 min In and Out!!!! Saved myself 159.00 a year in weight fees.No question asked, I feel cheated, can i go back and sit in line for 45 min so I can complain how bad the service was!!! Whats up? I didnt mention I walked in the door at 4:45, so every one wanted to go home.

I was also surprised when i went into our local dmv to register
a home built trailer, thought i would have to supply all kinds
of proof, but surprise! no questions looked at picture i had,no
inspection.

I left with a good feeling, and this was in California!
maybe there is hope!

Drive slow and enjoy "its the journey"
