Re: Short time lurker with questions

Wow thanx Rick for those pictures! Helps give me an idea of what might be needed... Does the vent increase wind noise in the van when driving at speed?

Re: Short time lurker with questions

So that's what one looks like without roof glop from edge to rim!

The road noise is significant on mine, however a cover eliminates the majority of it, and the actual noise level isn't so much a problem as the proximity to the driver. I would think in the rear it wouldn't be noticeable at all.

Camping World sells a foam plug for the fan opening. It is mostly for cold weather insulation, but it should also reduce the noise.

Re: Short time lurker with questions

I tried the foam pillows but they didn't fit the Fantastic Fan for beans. I haven't found it necessary to put a shade on it even when I'm on night shift and sleeping during the day. I also crack the vent just to keep moisture levels down and air coming in "just in case".

saabman---I haven't noticed any increased noise level while driving on the interstate, most likely because it is located in the rear.

Re: Short time lurker with questions

Thanx for those details...
still can't really make my mind up about the roof vent...
Insulation of the vent is something I hadn't thought of yet...
