Re: SOCAL build
Picked these 12'x12" rubber diamond plated squares up at Harbor freight and found a good use for them.

Re: SOCAL build
Made a template out of paper then stuck the rubber matting to the Fat-Mat.

Re: SOCAL build
Spent the rest of the weekend going Fat-Mat and Frost King insulation crazy. How come no one mentioned all the little cuts you get on your fingers from installing this stuff.

Re: SOCAL build
By Sunday night I got everything in, new seatbelts, door panels, all the plastic parts I took off and cleaned. Only thing that did not fit was the front floor mat, Fam Van said just bring it back.
Now I am rethinking my flooring options. I think I am going to have my upholstery guy do the floor for me with this material: http://www.garageflooringllc.com/blt-di ... ce-section
As for the rear I will continue with the Fat-Mat on the floor and the Frost King on the walls and ceiling.
I was thinking about having the bolt holes welded in the floor board but decided to go with liquid nail instead. Years ago when I did construction work I had a tub of this stuff burst in the back of my truck. I don't own the truck anymore but I am sure that it is still there.

Re: SOCAL build
It's quite long to do that, isn't it? But you did it good.

Re: SOCAL build
Rotors, breaks and calipers done. That was the last of the mechanical work. Nice having everything new.
Look at the difference in the these rotors. Getting them machined cost a bit but had to be done.

Re: SOCAL build
On to the dual stabilizer. First off was replacing the two front U-Bolts, National Spring in El Cajon made a set on the spot for $30.00. It is nice having a mechanic in the family, I would of spent all day trying to get this U-Bolt off.

Re: SOCAL build
Ordered the Procomp Dual Stabilizer kit and it does not fit with the stock tab welded on the passenger side so we tried to change the shock to one that would fit and that did not work, the shock was to short and they do not make one the correct length. The next thing we tried was mounting another Procomp bracket on the U-bolt same as the driver side. That did not work either because the distance was to short. Next thing is have a bracket welded in the correct location, another project for the upcoming weekend.

My brother-in-law is a mechanic, he has been helping, but he is not an expert on these and has stated that many times.

Any advise is appreciated!

I can see it is a leaf sprung conversion and looks like an axle assembly out of a 1999 - 2003 SuperDuty. Does it incorporate a Panhard Bar in the design or is it just the springs that locate the axle from side to side?
When it was aligned, do you know what the caster was set at?
Tracking down DW problems can be a PITA.
