Picked up an 2013 E350 XLT passenger this last fall. This is my first American van. 3 VWs prioir. Click image for larger version

My goal and budget was to get this thing two wheel drive light off-road capable. Went with a Weldtec 4” lift, custom leaf pack and stabilizer up front. Very happy with the work done. They used my van in a comparison video between my 4” and their shop van with the 6” lift.

At my work we use a very talented experienced carpenter, so I talked to him into taking on my platform bed and storage build project. Funny process. He has never worked on vans before but with my concept and his skills it came out just how I wanted it. Very happy with the end results. I got inspired by the solidwoodworx designs. He finished it over three Saturdays.

I purchased a lucid 5” memory foam queen mattress from amazon for 100$. Fits perfect. Threw that in and got the slider positioned for the fridge. I plan on covering the plywood bottom with something, just haven’t settled yet.

Last thing I finished on the van was the aluminess tire carrier. Pretty straight forward install.

Next on my to do list is house batteries. I go back and forth between the solar contained units and making up my own. Nothing is going happen now anyways with the Virus thing.

The Family Weekender Build

Ordered some coin flooring for the platform base. With the helpful advise from @villageidiot I got the trimming down with 3/4 aluminum angle.

That's pretty much standard equipment these days. Or should I say one of the first things to add when building out anew.

I swear by mine---a wondermous device for sure.
