Nice job on the build. Bummer on the rear end. Glad you got it sorted.

Bringing back the conversation from page two or so....

I've got 80mil Kilmat & 315mil Noico RED (Which... turns out to be grey, ha)... Is there a "right" order and a "wrong" order in the real world application?

Was thinking about using the thick 315 mil stuff to fill in the valleys and put one big sheet of Kilmat across the top once it was all leveled (Followed by thick carpeting..).

The floor is corrugated so it doesn't really need the Kilmat as that's designed to cut down on flat surface resonance by adding mass to the panel it's attached to. It's better suited for exterior skin, ceiling/walls/doors etc I'd say just lay the 315 down and put the carpet directly over top.

If you're wanting to use the 315 to fill in the low spots of the corrugated floor you could cut strips to fill them in and then go carpet right on top, or fill the low spots with strips, add a full layer of 315 over that and then the carpet of you're wanting more cushion/sound deadening/insulation.

The Gnarhauler: Another white cargo van.

Progress on the electrical system. Finalized my design with the help of the wizards on these forums. Got all my parts and cable together and got to work.

Layout finalized

I used desk grommets to allow cable to pass thru the distribution panel, PVC conduit clamps to manage cables on the backside.

Routing cabling from under hood, ground and house battery location along frame rails and into the cabin. Used some hi temp wrap where I crossed the frame rail and passed under the exhaust manifold.

Cables in the van, starting to tie everything in. I used some plastic edge guard on the openings in the factory sheet metal where cables will pass thru. All power and ground cables got covered in split loom once inside the van.

This is one of those right tool for the job situations. Got some serious crimpers for some serious cables. All solid copper tinned cable and connectors, adhesive lined shrink and braided loom for protection and drainage under the van.
