Looks great, Eric! Looks like a tight squeeze for your pallets - what about putting some 1/8" aluminum kick panels on the bottom of your cabinets to help slide and guide your pallets in place so your cabinets don't get scuffed up or get an edge caught?

What are the tracks you used for the sliding doors?

I have a very similar setup, and love it for not taking up any space that might be packed full of other things. However with changes in moisture, and dust accumulation, my setup either rattles or binds more often than I'd like it to.

IIRC I just used some aluminum channel stock and counter suck screws flush by hand.

Thanks all. The aluminum or some kind of kick plate has been in my head since the start, I just haven't sourced it yet. It is definitely necessary. I'll do it when I stain the cabinets.

You can get slider door guides from McMaster Carr but only in 1/4". I'm kind of worried about the bowing of my 1/4" birch ply. We'll see what happens.

Meredith, as for thicker sliding doors, that would be easy. You could route a slot in a baseboard and top board in any thickness. That's what I was going to do but couldn't beat the deal on the plastic ones from McMaster.

I used 1/4" as well, and didn't have any bowing issues after a couple of years now. It's more that it'll swell a little when I'm somewhere foggy, or bind up with dust when I'm in the desert. It's not bad enough to do anything about, but not ideal either. Hopefully the rails you used have just enough more play for that not to be an issue.

So far so good, and I didn't have to add felt to keep down the rattles either. They are quiet so far.

I've been trying to think what I could add to mine if I ever try to improve my setup.

Also nice how you've worked around having to have some open space in the back on occasion. I originally thought I'd use my van that way, but really I just toss a tarp over the bed, or borrow a trailer when I need to.
