Re: The Zombie Van Build (feat. REDOVAL)

We finally pulled the trigger on one of Sam's boxes for the rear area of the ZV. The install was supervised by my son and all went well. The fit and finish was great and the added room and storage is valuable.

So amazing. Someday, maybe in 2017, I'll be able to go camping!

Battery rack for the dual Alcatel batteries is coming along nicely. Hoping to have these in and wired in the next couple of days.

Nice progress!

Not to derail the thread but how did you create this photo array in place of the top>bottom types we're mostly familiar with? That's quite handy!

JWA,

I use an application on my phone called PhotoGrid that facilitates those layups. I try to set them up so the project progresses from top to bottom. I think my version allows up to 15 photos.

The Zombie Van Gets New Plates!

So, after going through countless iterations of "ZOMBIE VAN", Scott said, "It would be cool if we could get "BUGNOUT", but that's probably taken by one of the millions of VW Bug peeps out there."

I thought, what the hell? I applied and got them! They are so sweet. The quality of work on them is not great. I've noticed these 1960 Legacy yellow on black plates leave the sides uncovered with little strips of exposed metal of the plate. So lame. I'll either have to paint them, or get license plate frames. Either way, I think they look great and BUGNOUT is an awesome personalized plate for the ZV, no?

Nobbie, Sweet project. You have a lot of time into it. Saw a few pages back you met a vendor in Long Beach. You live in LBC? I do and I have a SMB that I'm switching out from Salem Kroger to Ujoint this year and next year comes an aesthetic overhaul. You've done some things on the ZV that I would like to discuss over beers sometime when the time comes. Let m know.

Cool

And here is the Zombie Van on the set of The Martian.
Or at the Ocotillo Wells meetup.

Zombie van is back for more...this time around is a series of suspension mods. We picked up the front RIP kit from Agile Offroad and got that installed with no issues. For the rear, we contacted Weldtec Designs and had them build a custom heavy duty complete replacement spring pack. The van rides like a dream now compared to when we got it. We still need to replace the rear shocks with some Agile tuned Fox units, but that will be in the near future.
