Tires and lift knowledge please

Hi. Thanks for reading. I don't have a SMB, but a 3" Body lift with blocks on my 2013 3500 Express. How big can I go on tires and rims? Easily Trimming on bumper, wheel wells is ok. I am hoping to add 1.5 to 2" Ground clearance. Can I go 2657018s (2" Including rims)? 2857017s (1.5" W/ rims)? Any info on how much faster I may wear components or do in sand and snow is appreciated. Thank you from SLC

It is hard to give a firm answer with the given information. These vans have the biggest clearance issues with the rear of the front wheel wells.

I run 285/70r17 tires on about a 4” lift and the body mounts at the rear of the front wheel wells were trimmed. I did have some rubbing at lock with deflection. Rubbing was against the plastic fender liners and the fender trim piece at the bottom rear of the wheel well on occasion. I added Weldtec Designs mini fenders (see below link) and resolved the plastic fender lining by heating and flattening.

WeldtcDesigns mini fenders: https://weldtecdesigns.com/product/c...-mini-fenders/

Are you sure you have a body lift? Is the body lifted from the frame via spacers or do you have blocks between the rear leafs and the axle? If so how is the front lifted?

Following up on WhitH's comments, are there spacers on the body mounts? You can see a normal one above.

Can you post photos of the van?

Distance from ground to top of wheel wells?

So we'd need answers to the questions and photos to provide more answers.

Thanks very much. Here are pics. Please feel free to let me know if I can give you better info. Fingers crossed that with mini finders I can do 2757017 for 1.75" more clearance including the rim help. Any thoughts on back spacing and offset, caliper issues is greatly appreciated as well. This is for moderate offroading. Thanks again

Looks like a suspension lift with blocks and I’d guess some taller coils in the front, not a body lift. You could run a 32” ish tire on that if there is that bit of lift on the front. Boulder Offroad and Weldtec both make 2wd lift kits for GM vans if you do end up needing to raise the front a bit. Something to keep in mind is the offset of your wheels. As Marret mentioned, the tightest clearance will be the front fender wells and too much negative offset will make it even more challenging. I’m running a 285x70x17 as well with a zero offset wheel.

Rears should be no problem.

I didn't measure it from the beginning so its hard to know. Mine is a 4x4 with torsion bar front end so I just have re-indexed keys/levers. I'd guess I'm about 3" lift. My front wheel wells sit around 39.5" off the ground at the top right now.
