Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

I would think Raptor would be way cheaper. SMB did mine for 600 or slightly more (PH only). They don't do it themselves so I would think you could find someone to apply it where you live. Saline did it himself but you probably have seen his thread.

It's not quite as rough as Line-X

Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

Brent your rig looks like an amazing build/project! Continued best wishes that you can find a workable solution.
I'm not sure but when i had VanSpecialties in Portland put on the top i think the project came with a 1 year warranty...not that we needed it (fortunately). VS works exclusively with fiberine for top-conversions and i will ask them tomorrow when we see them if they've run across or heard of this.

Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

I can see why you're unhappy - that looks unacceptable to me. And unusual. Even white gelcoated boats that have been out in the sun and elements for years don't typically change color like that (if anything they lighten due to oxidation).

Of course it's obvious you caused it by fixing the leaks

Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

Remove the "Brent Haywood Photography" decal from the roof, and in its place put "This yellowing top brought to you by Fiberline"

I like your thinking Herb!!

I will be sending them the hit count on this thread and some of the responses with identity scrubbed.

They could easily make this go away....

Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

Yeah, to recognize that there is a problem, especially an out of the ordinary problem, but then hide behide a very short warranty is short-sighted at best. Time for them to man-up!

I am (hopefully) weeks away from purchasing a new top. Fiberine will be off my list until they can prove at least some "normal" form of customer service. They may have already taken far too long for my liking.

This is one reason I became a member here, it is all the valuable experiences like this. I am sorry for your treatment, but please know merely by your sharing here, you are causing them some retribution. Companies need to understand that for every customer they shaft, there is at least 10 to 20 real life, money spending, customers that they lose.

Good customer service pays far more than the marketing and advertising it will take to replace potential customers like myself totally turned off by the type of treatment you received.

Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

Not much positive news lately from Fiberine with Brent's thread and bodhi1960's thread.

Re: Fiberine Top Yellowing?

Thanks for all the support and suggestions.

I too have gained a lot of valuable information from this forum and carefully listen to the good and the bad.

I am surprised how many vendors these days don't do the right thing and I too avoid the ones that wrong our members.

They clearly know that something happened on their end but are not willing to take care of it. I am compiling all my documentation and will most likely take it to small claims court.

Quick 5 second video of both windows leaking on my first trip out. Starting snowing hard around 2:00am and water started dripping into the cabin.
