Transmission lines don't run anywhere near the muffler, unless some sort of remote trans cooler as been installed.

Re: New to me QuadVan interior build out about to start.

Not sure myself Carring just what they told me. The parts receipt from Ford calls it an Auto Trans Oil Cooler Tube. Part number 6c2z7r081fa. There was reddish liquid coming from the tube that was leaking that was resting on top of the muffler.

Part is on order and will take a week to get from back East.

Whatever it is I hope it fixes the problem.

Was the muffler moved as part of an exhaust system change or modification? The muffler should be far enough back not to be near a transmission hydraulic line.

Not sure Herb, need to post a photo today for thoughts from you all. Should have taken one yesterday when down in their pit under the van. I'll try to get one shortly.

Aluminess Roof Rack Installed....

The roof rack has been the most anticipated addition to the van for me. I have needed a platform to shoot from for a long time. The back portion is expanded metal for standing and the front has rails for two solar panels. The installation went great and I have to hand it to Aluminess again. The ladder is being modified right now to reach from the rack to the base and won't be back till next week. Bummer, have the rack and can't use it yet!!

As I was warned the rack makes a fair amount of noise from 50mph on up. Aluminess gave me a few things to try which I will today. I can also feel the extra weight and drag up there. Not really a concern but it's presence if well noted while under way.

More photos of the installation coming soon.

Re: New to me QuadVan interior build out about to start.

Brent, i know you've got a lot of $ wrapped up in your ladder already, but try one of these from Amazon, especially if you might need it for around the house as well. Mine was shipped quickly, and i love it. It stows away easily in the van and i can get to any corner of my roof with it, which i mainly wanted to be able to do for quickly loading bikes.

If you're going to shoot stills or whatever you might want to think about stabilizer jacks between the rack and ground.it stops the shaking from wind and body movements.

Re: New to me QuadVan interior build out about to start.

Full day with the van yesterday...Started at the weigh station. Not good! 8000 lbs as she sits with nothing inside yet...

Tried out the Staun deflators and they worked great! 3-4 minutes to air all the tires down and about 15 minutes to air back up with the on board compressor. Did a little trail drive later in the afternoon to check lockers etc. Great day. Few images at the link below.
